drillers satchel charge is unweildy, and more often than not i put it down as a chokepoint hold that never gets used while the bugs pour in from the other direction, but
I mostly just set down a wall of fire/ice to bunch up enemies, jump way up and dunk the charge right in the middle of the crowd, and set it off immediately.
yeah that is the way to use it maximally, especially when you have a couple praetorians stacked up. it's just unweildy when you use it that way; weapon swap CD + charge placed into trigger drawn CD is right about the same amount of time for deep freeze to run out (if you're cryo) or for a fire-slowed oppressor to turn fully towards you, tanking the whole blast like a wet sneeze.
absolute favorite is to hop on a gunner's zipline and drop it into a sea of bugs from above :chefs-kiss:
Try using it to mine ore veins or clear pillars when preparing an area for a fight. I find that if one doesn't do that it's pretty rare to actually use two charges of it in between resupplies.
