I found out my girlfriend has a Jiang Qing fan page and she keeps calling me a capitalist roader. I've been trying to explain the benefits of socialism with Chinese characteristics, but she just laughs at me and yells "REVISIONIST" anytime I bring it up.

What should I do?

Edit: thanks to those of you who took this seriously. Her parents are on vacation so she is heading to their house with a group of her French Maoist friends. We will see how our next conversation goes when she is back.

what does she want done about China? if it's "a people's revolution built to overthrow the PRC" then whatever, it's in neither of your hands. if she can't find a "revolution" she won't support (like if she genuinely thinks the HK protests were anything but bourgeois tantruming) and propagates/defends any threat to China's stability then she's ideologically bankrupt, you can stay with her but like, outside of broad movement building type things you should just write her ideas on revolution and defending it off

just read a comment implying she condemns a Lot of parties - why is she like this ? just ask her why is she like this. there's no built up movement in the West. there's no need to keep other far leftists/communists ideologically arguing about things that are so far in the future that no communist line could possibly be predicted to come out on top yet

I'll ask when I see her next. Her parents are gone for a bit so she is going to their house with her group of French Maoist friends.

i can see that she'd say that my line of reasoning is complacent and nihilist or something, like "just because we can't see the future doesn't mean we aren't the most theoretically rigorous and therefore right and therefore no substitute to our line should be accepted even right now"

lot of arguments against that like idk looking at current things with the lens dialectical and historical materialism and realising maybe holding so rigorously to one line and path at this moment isn't at all practical

something something Lenin: "left wing communism is an infantile disorder" but in the meaning of the full context in which "infantile" is not just him dismissing and insulting ultraleft communism but rationally explaining that being ultraleftist is simply refusing to develop and engage in actual struggle and can/must be grown out of to be an effective communist organiser-theorist

like Mao and Lenin and Castro and Sankara and and and and didn't lead successful revolutions from going "fuck you fuck you fuck you" there was all sorts of compromises and things that caused them to reevaluate their theory before the balls really started rolling in their historical situations. Stalin was a Menshevik for a non-insignificant time for example
