250K is a lot of money for a person to get, but I would never think of someone worth 250K as rich. I feel a lot of people itt are being intentionally dense about the valuation thing. Stock value is not revenue from the company being put in the owners pocket. Its more like the value of Tom Brady's signature changed a lot between when he was 10 years old and now. Its valuable because more people would be willing to pay for it.
Someone "worth" 250 k basically just means they own their own house. That should be the standard.
Returns on investment into stock is part of a company's profit, which is the part of revenue that is not paid out in wages or reinvested in expanding production.
the concept of economic value isn't very useful for describing things like one-of-a-kind works of art or the signatures of celebrities. It's much more useful for describing mass-manufactured commodities that can have their SNLT calculated.
I once saw a dude brag about having $300k in public and without missing a beat someone pointed out that "thousandaire" isn't in the dictionary for a reason.
It was a pretty good burn.
