Germany had forced sterilization of trans people seeking a name change until 2011 (btw the DDR didn't have a law like that on the books). That was the actual legal consensus about gay sex throughout the mid 20th century in Germany. If you knew ANYTHING about gay rights in Germany, you'd be aware of this, it's a key part of queer German history how the West perpetuated fascist views about queerness. West German conservatives were thinking out loud about throwing gay people in camps in the 1980s.
