And where I am passenger rail has been on a steady decline since the 70s. I don't think there has been a single new route opened since then and plenty have been shut down. I believe my city is down to a train a week which is absolutely pathetic and nigh impossible to use for any practical transportation. Unless you're determined to take a ride on a train for it's own sake there's no point to it.
