Genuinely really bitter about Halo 4's reception. It explicitly talked about Halsey as a war criminal and was focused largely on humanizing Master Chief somewhat, and the fans hated it for that. There are mods to take out most of his dialog so he can continue being a stoic tacticool machine (and also to take out the one time a woman makes a slightly dismissive comment about him). This also led them to overcorrect and make Halo 5, and we don't need to talk about that
I like Halo, too. The colorful, fun design of the first game, the mixture of open combat, the horror elements, the cool world design. Halo:CE is one of my favorite games. It's just, yeah, the fans. "Space fascism is so cool!"
Even beyond the way they paint space fascism as So Cool, there's this stagnancy to the Halo fandom. They demand every subsequent game just be Halo 3 again, explicitly, in those terms. Which would be dumb even if 3 was good but IMO 3 is the second-worst game in the series (haven't played Infinite tho)

I genuinely like Halo a lot, but Halo fans suck
