Due to these attacks, many Israeli commercial ships have been forced to change their routes with Israel’s Eilat port recording around 85% loss in its business according to the media reports. The Houthi-led government in Yemen has also fired missiles and drones targeting Eilat.

Nothing is passing to the Mediterranean ports via Suez either. It is serious enough that Israel thinks of attacking Yemen https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/09/middleeast/israel-houthi-yemen-warning-intl-hnk/index.html

Thats assuming Yemen is capable of stopping all israeli traffic through the red sea. Best they can do is make it risky, which is effective, but not total. Pretty sure the US has bases in Djbouti for this exact reason.

You should see how Zim responded when a Yemen-gov account tweeted "ZIM" https://twitter.com/army21ye/status/1728421437570998366

Zim (NYSE: ZIM), whose stock hit a new all-time low Monday, is the most visible of the Israeli shipping companies and the most closely connected with the government. The government of Israel has a “golden share” or “special state share” in the company that ensures the government’s access to Zim’s fleet “in a time of emergency or for national security purposes.”
