Bro I swear to God not only in real life do people shame me for stealing from there, I just was on reddit and made a comment revealing that I think it's okay to steal anything you want from mega-corps and got like three different replies calling me a loser and shit lmao. This was my favorite and most seething one
"Only a legitimate real life loser tries to justify stealing. This is outside the scope of this sub but the people you fuck over when you steal electronics (funny how it’s never essentials, always shiny electronics or other shit that’s not necessary but expensive for people who still live on mama and papa’s paycheck), are the workers and the people who rely on that Walmart to exist in their area. Not the Walton Family, who already have so much generational wealth that they’ll still be billionaires by 2100.
Only extremely online, emotionally unstable, out of touch white nerds in their early 20s would justify robbing communities of important stores, all the while ironically gentrifying those very same communities drawing people away from these businesses that they need to support themselves and their families. Also depriving entry level minimum wage jobs that can make or break someone’s ability to make a living (“b-b-but when I moved there things magically got more expensive reee why isn’t minimum wage enough reee.”)
Go ask any normal person in Portland OR how they feel now that most stores there got up and left. Or being treated like a criminal at the three CVSs that still exist there.
Get a fucking life and stop being cringe."
I replied to them and basically just said they're brainrot for putting systemic and inevitable problems of the capitalist system on the individual who "steals"
Tldr stealing from mega-corps is cool
There has been a concerted effort as of late to astroturf a retail crime wave panic.
