99% of people who tune in already have their mind made up and are treating it as a team sport, and of course you'll never change the mind of the person you're debating - but I think they can be useful for finding weaknesses in your own side's arguments, since you can see how a lot of people respond to them and possibly see how someone competent might respond to them. So go for it but don't get too hung up them I guess is what I'm saying.
