Both your links worked fine, but they linked to feddit.uk's version of hexbear communities. So you would've been logged out. If you'd typed it in the form /c/memes@feddit.uk it would've worked fine (at least, on the website, I'm not sure if apps have quite caught up with generating links from that text) and anyone from lemmy.world would see a link also - oh wait, maybe not, you're in hexbear so I guess you're restricted to lemmy.ml and a handful of others. Shame that, having to face the consequences of your behaviour.
Links in the form !memes@feddit.uk are more widely adopted, I think. I'm gonna check on a few apps in a sec. Edit: the /c/ one still doesn't work in everything, but !community@instance does.
