yeah, it's a type of brigandine, honestly one of the coolest types of armor out there (and possibly the origin of "studded leather" in fantasy RPGs, from people seeing pictures of just the outside and not realizing the studs are actually rivets holding metal plates in place on the inside)
WTF I always wondered how "some pads" were considered armor. I never knew they had metal plates overlapping inside of them, that's awesome

It's like the equivalent to the European brigandine which a lot of pop culture mistakes for simple padded armor when it was that plus sheets of metal.
after 1700 they actually made fake versions that looked like that but with paper for ceremonial positioms, since the guns made the brigandine obsolete
