I mean, the US wasn’t gonna just build up the productive forces for China without getting anything in return beyond just cheap exports. Literally a deal with the devil. China taking the US side in everything wasn’t just some accident. It was the part of the cost of doing business with the US.
It’s like, when we talk about AES states taking China’s lead and trying to do Dengism, we forget that no communist country is probably ever getting that deal again.
