Like I know this is just cynical tension-raising to justify massive influxes of cash to various Euro-American MICs, but it's so fucking gross to see all these countries turn to the populaces they've helped immiserate on behalf of and go "oooooo! Yeah but Russians didn't give their oil for zero dollars a barrel to Exxon or Total or Shell either. It's not just the MIC, all of the west benefited from extraction and exploitation and now it's seeing some barriers. Europe is gonna have to develop a new economic model or continue this path of destruction. It's just how they set themselves up since the days of Columbus.
