Seriously fucking trash. This is the complete and utter GARBAGE that a $3 trillion marketcap monolopy under captalism has brought us? Word has only gotten WORSE since 2003, with more and more features and capabilities removed. Libre Office is now better, where's its 3 trillion dollar marketcap? Rational markets my ass.
I've used both Obsidian and Libre Office (and Microsoft Word). I almost always prefer the latter two but that's probably because I have more experience with those sorts of word processors and as a result it takes me a relatively long time to format anything complex on Obsidian. If you want to use something like Word, then try out Libre Office Writer. If Obsidian works just fine for your needs, I don't see why you should switch over.
