I think that's the closest thing to a coherent take here. Europeans don't "see" their imperialism as clearly as Americans do - as long as it's happening somewhere far away, like in Africa, then they can compartmentalize it - but commitment to NATO like this author wants would require them to raise substantial, visible forces, which they're not ready to do right now because unlike Americans they haven't been fed intense troopaganda for the last fifty years.

TBH I'm not sure I buy it. Euros might not be as bloodthirsty as Americans, but the Ukraine War pushed military budgets into the stratosphere. If it came down to it, Europeans would absolutely rally together to kill non-Europeans in the name of the Euro's strength as a currency.

I think Europeans would be cool funding proxy wars and sending weapons, but I doubt there's appetite to go and fight themselves to be honest.

I could see them wanting to fight if they continue thinking that there is no way they will lose. Perhaps while trying to get immigrants to fight for them too while saying that's good for immigrants.

From what I've seen, public opinion is very much against the war in Europe. The ghouls running the EU will try anything they can to keep this going, but my expectation is that it's just going to result in their downfall in the end.
