“Now, no one is standing beside them to save them from Taliban punishments. The international community has chosen to remain silent in the face of these violations of women’s rights.”

"It should be western supplied and operated drones slaughtering innocent civilians instead"

The implication here is obviously that they support more genocidal intervention policies on behalf of imperialist powers that will ultimately result in for more violence than whatever the Taliban is currently doing.

This is all because the CIA flooded the country with fundamentalist propaganda back in the 80s and it has spilled over into other parts of the region as well.

The source claims that this was to spur "resistance to Soviet Occupation" but the Soviets were merely aiding the social democratic Kabul government at their behest to combat reactionary anti-socialist groups that were small but preexisting.

What this obfuscates is that what people commonly know as the Soviet Afghan war did not become a war until after those fundamentalist elements took power with the help of the CIA and Saudis and the secular left wing democratically elected government was deposed/defunct.
