No way they do it before the election.

Their argument for the last 4 years has been "you may not like literally anything about him but he's the only person that can beat trump"

Sticking in another equally unpopular person with the same policies might even get your average blue Maga to feel a sense of confusion.

He's gonna be head of the ticket and be replaced immediatly after the election is called (assuming he wins).

Like votes happen Tuesday, election is officially called Friday, kamala replaces him in time to make the rounds on the Sunday shows.

I'm sure this is what the Dems are planning and hoping for at the moment, but to get to that stage they still have to win the election and therefore must have some confidence that the current ticket can beat Trump, which is the part that surprises me.

Obviously the reality is that those with enough power to do anything about the situation don't really care who wins either way, it's not like their lives will be negatively impacted by it.

Obviously if he abdicates then Kamala will be president for the remainder of the 2021-2024 term, but if he's unable to assume office I doubt she can just be sworn in as president without any vice president. I'm not talking legally, I don't know what the laws/rules/conventions are around this, but surely that would be the final straw for lots of Trumpets to make Jan 6th look like an "innocent" AOC shoe sniffing sesh.

Trumpers are fucking coward they aren't going to do shit. They "thought" the election was stolen and all flocked to DC to overthrow the government and then one person shot one gun one time and the realization that there might be possible negative consequences was enough to send them all home.

Then they watched everybody involved get prison sentences while Trump completely abandoned them, after specifically telling them to do it.

They'd have a point that it was a bullshit power grab, but they've also said that about literally everything for the last 8 years up to and including Hunter getting charged.

They'd say it's bullshit, be right for once and maybe understand the allegory of the boy who cried wolf, and libs would say it's all good.

Kamala gets sworn in, probably chooses somebody like Pete or Buttigieg for vp, 80% of the country thinks it's bullshit, and turbo mecha-hitler cruises to election on the republican ticket in 2028 after winning 40 states.

Section 3 of the 20th Amendment says the President or president elect. If Biden is elected and dies/resigns before inauguration, then Kamala Harris legally becomes president at inauguration

I don't know how chuds would respond though. I don't know if they hate Biden or Harris more. They seem to think Harris is a secret Marxist tankie or something, which would be really funny though

I would watch the shit out of a movie about a Marxist sleeper agent as VP who is getting blasted with Xanax to deal with what she has to do to get into office and push the communism button
