A map illustrating the rise and expansion of the Tsardom of Russia under the rule of Ivan IV Vasilyevich (commonly known as The Terrible, from the Russian “grozny“(грозный), Fearsome or Awe-inspiring). Originally a Grand Prince of Moscow, Ivan IV became the first to be crowned and rule as the Tsar of all Russia (from the Latin Caesar), previously a conglomerate of dutchies. He laid the foundation of absolute rule, engaged in a reign of terror against the nobility, reformed the government, opened diplomatic relations with England, wrote music, oversaw cultural and religious renaissance, and aggressively expanded the Russian borders through war and conquest. Shortly after his death (in 1584), Russia entered decades of instability known as The Troubles (Смута) that ended his Rurik dynasty and opened the way for the Romanovs.

my yard is covered in poison ivy. it's everywhere. i have two derelict properties adjacent to me and it's all coming from there. one has a bush so large it has replaced another bush like the Thing.

i was trying to rewild my yard and now i'm really upset im going to have to use chemicals and go scorched earth on this. then my lawnmower breaks too

fuuuuck everything. this is after i found out one of the derelict properties is full of Tree of Heaven right next to my utility lines

I always pictured poison ivy looking cool, like a plant that does contact damage in a video game. I'm guessing it's not cool and spooky looking enough to put up with?

nah. i do miss when i couldn't identify them and just happily lived next to a poison ivy bush that's like 14ft tall.

plus they are killing the bush, crowding out other stuff, and fucking with my favorite trees. so it must die
