Not knowing any better seems like a good excuse. If wasps could reason like humans they'd systematically swarm us to death because we are a their largest ecological threat. It's like being mad that godzilla was attacked by the military but if there were 7 billion godzillas also systemically destroying your ecosystem and driving your species to extinction.
