This was another DIY project I ran across that looks a little less intimidating than Kristian Tysse's Stargate Project.
The link has full build instructions, how to order parts, and 3d models for completion. If you're looking at getting into diy electronics and love stargate this could be a cool project for yourself or a loved one! (I think I'm getting ready to gear up for something like this)
Before you do this, make sure you build and attach your Iris first. I forgot, put it all together and immediately got an unscheduled offworld activation.
Luckily I had a dinner plate nearby on my desk to jam in the way, but now it's all covered in atomized Jaffa warrior that just won't scrub off.
