Why can't every show just be a parade of 
with 
"nonpolitical" characteristics where not a single uncomfortable thought might reach the treat hogs' unbothered heads?
They babble about 
but what they want is the cheap lazy noisy thought-terminating spectacles from Fahrenheit 451.
literally the entire point of these shows using violence and superheroes and unrealistic phenomena is to bring the fundamental ideas they are engaging with into stark relief, the violence/spectacle/fantasy is not supposed to be an end in itself but a way to increase narrative stakes by putting characters and settings and ideas into more intense/unstable/improbable configurations to bring out the contrasting elements. these people are anti-art, anti-thinking. they want their brain to work like their stomach, filling it with meaningless slop treats, and are confused that it doesnt work out the same way.
