One of the few doctors in China to work in transgender healthcare, who asked to remain anonymous because of the sensitivities of talking to foreign media, said part of the problem was a lack of awareness in the profession. When hospitals receive transgender patients, “they don’t know how to treat them. They think that using these methods [such as electroshocks] could help, but in fact they are wrong. They make this choice because of their lack of knowledge.”

How the fuck does a doctor ever think that harming someone will help a patient? I think the doctor in this section is naive to assume this practice was done out of ignorance rather than malice. While this malice has cone about initially due to there not being proper education about GSM in China, that doesn't excuse this behavior.

A study published in 2019, based on a survey of 385 people, found that nearly one in five transgender youths in China reported being forced into conversion practices by their parents.

Wild. Fucking awful. There is a dife need foran better education system to teach about GSMs so that this shit can stop. I have hope it will change, since China has been quickly making economic and other social chnage, and since China is like in the late 2000s of USian views on GSMs, so I think it will get better, but its gonna be a lot to deal with

I feel like I could write more but I fear I'm getting into like some brain worms of mine when talking about China on this topic, so I'm just gonna stop talking and just try and look at my mind and see what my issues are.

Also I've used GSM instead of LGBT because I'm unsure what terminology people in China prefer to be called. If you know just reply and I'll edit my comment

On a general note, getting rid of personal brainworms is a hard and continuous task. I've been working on some of my own that I've recently found regarding China.
