Doing an #introduction post! 👋
A friend on Bluesky recommended this place; they really missed the easiest layup ever. I'm probably going to lurk here to figure out how best to interact with it, but it seems fun so far.
I'm a writer and artist. Unapologetically bi in a committed throuple. Mostly into fiction, music, and retro games.
I'm a veteran, but nothing has convinced me that the root cause of many of America's problems are white supremacy than having to work with senior military officers.
I wrote two complete (and one in-progress) sprite comics all set in the same universe that are story-driven, epic fantasies rather than comedy-driven stories.
If you enjoy the SNES RPGs from the Golden Age of Square Enix, then I think you will like my stories. (www.fortunasaga.com)
Hi. I hope you enjoy it.
The early comics were rough, but it's a lot of fun to work with even though I have developed a lot as an artist under my real name. Chrono and FF6 were the best, but the opening scene from Bof2 still gives me chills for how effective it is with one sprite, some good music, and some text.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about Mike other than I've heard his name in a few socialist discussions. I don't think it's embarrassing to be a veteran. I'm definitely not an oorahing, flag waving knucklehead. It's the only time that I've had socialized medicine and other benefits. I want those for everyone now :)
That’s with the eye and creepy music, right? It’s been a loooooooong time since I’ve played that but that’s what I remember. I could be mixing it up with the first one though.
He’s fantastic and I highly recommend his stuff. In addition to the podcast, he’s also worked on The Empire Files with his wife Abby Martin and those documentaries are really really fantastic too.
Eh. I’m grateful I managed to make it out with my limbs, sanity, and conscience intact, but I still consider it the biggest life mistake I’ve ever made, and I try to talk people out of joining every chance I get. That’s just me tho.
No, you're right. BOF2 is the one with the eye ball. Just excellent less-is-more design philosophy.
