Removed Comment Okay, so is the plan "pressure the Harris campaign to do something to stop it", or "purity test all candidates, and since they all fail, spend all our time shitting on the people that don't wake up horny to slatewipe the West Bank", or is it "white knuckle accelerationism and tell myself it'll go the way I want it to"? Because I can dig the first, but I honestly can't tell if that's there it's coming from. by conditional_soup@lemm.ee

Removed Comment How about just transit security? You're acting like I want to prevent all homeless/psychiatric patients from using transit, which is not the case. I just think that if you're (not YOU, but generally speaking) acting in a way that'd get you kicked out of Wal-Mart, maybe you shouldn't be scaring ridership off the bus, and you should be somewhere else getting services that you clearly need. Big picture, my guy. To have better urbanism also means more affordable, more livable cities. We can't get there on car dependency, and we can't break car dependency if people steer clear of our buses and trains because they're busy doubling as psych wards and homeless shelters. That, of course, means that we need better services for psychiatric patients and the homeless, as in better capacity and better quality. Long term, though, the effect of better urbanism is that it's going to be easier for these people to be housed and have stability and get to their services. But we're not going to get there without some quality controls to make sure that it's a decent experience for everyone. by conditional_soup@lemm.ee
