Smbc is usually kinda liby but this one I enjoyed.
I have been hittin him with memes about how the ussr won the space race on twitter so I am going to take credit for this and it's good to see him turn around
A lot of people might interpret it as "Batman = good, ergo Historical Materialism = Bad"
Yeah Im pretty sure Zachary did a comic pointing out the absurdity of batman's hoarded wealth causing crime I'm gotham city.
The entire comic is good, but even in this one, taking away panels 2 and 3 would make for a pretty good comic by itself.
Did he like, get better than this at some point?
I like the guy / comic enough to have bought the Book and not regret it but that one was a yikes.
I mean, I can't tell when this comic was from so I can't really say if he gets better from there.
Aside from that, maybe I'm not awake enough to read deep enough into it but I don't see how this is too yikes aside from standard ignorance? It's a webcomic outlining the flaws with the current pseudo-monopoly in Charlottesville's health insurance industry but it doesn't have any real perscriptive solution in mind.
Didn't he make an "open borders" comic book in collaboration with some sort of lolbertarian economist that keeps posting cringe on twitter? What's up with that?
"Open borders" is a stupid and narrow manufactured talking point -- much better to interrogate the historical, legal, and sociopolitical concept and function of borders themselves -- but in itself there's nothing to it that's inherently problematic.
I also honestly couldn't tell you what a standard "libertarian" talking point about open borders would even be except for them wanting unrestricted flow of opiates.
I hadn't heard about this so I looked it up, yes he illustrated a 200-page "graphic novel" about open borders written by self-proclaimed Libertarian Anarcho-Capitalist Bryan Caplan.
I don't know about any cringe tweets because I use you guys to go on twitter for me, but I may appropriate a pdf of the book to see what the fuck is going on here.
That's lame but it is fucked up that capital can cross borders but workers can't :shrug-outta-hecks:
I'm actually banned on twitter, so I depend on r/SneerClub to keep me updated on all the gastly "rationalist" drama. The guy is apparently an antimasker now among other silly and offensive stuff he came up with.
Was there something particular you meant to link? I just get the reddit search results for Bryan Caplan.
It did give me this though so thanks for the laugh.
Imagine picking Jorge "1975" Orwin to be the socialist you oppose in a capitalism vs. socialism argument.
Shit. I meant to link only search hits on r/SneerClub. Not sure how to do that.
As for Orwell thing I think he also has written an article about how Spanish anarchists sucked. Yep, here it is. The Anarcho-Statists of Spain, lmao.
(using new reddit ui) Starting at https://www.reddit.com/r/SneerClub/
When you type something into the search bar and hit enter it takes you to the results page, yeah, and there should be a bar just below the buttons for "Best results" etc. that says "Show results from r/XxXxXXXX" to get here.
And yes I see the yikes tweets now lol
Becoming a leftist is realizing that Batman could do more to help Gotham by using his wealth on I fast fixture and closing tax loopholes then on being up street level crime, while simultaneously realizing that Superman is a better hero in every way for actually helping the common person and fighting the bourgeois in Lex Luther (except when he is mine CK trolled by zombie Reagan but Frank Miller sucks so who cares)
