After spending a rather stupid amount of money on toys such as laser pens, electronic toys, wands, feathers, fishing line things, balls, puzzles my cat yearns for only one toy.... A stick.

The end that is supposed to be used is clearly not interesting enough no the HANDLE is what she wants to play with. Something about a plastic stick being scrapped across carpet sets all her neurons off.

Only other things she likes is carboard boxes and brown paper to shred and occasionally felt balls being rolled down the stairs.

Her other demands are being let into the conservatory and demanding i watch her poo.

I guess its easy to overthink a cats mind since they don't care if you spend hundreds in toys they gonna play with the stupidest items. Made the same mistake with food spending loads on different fancy wet foods to find out she just wanted to eat kibble.

Same here. I bought these tunnel thingies, balls of all types, things on a string, feathers, the list is endless

At the end of the day the little bastard has much more fun with a bread tag I forgot to throw away.

Your cat may have basic tastes in entertainment, but she is elegant and beautiful.

The best toy I ever bought for my cat was a like $2 package of pipe cleaners from a craft store. You can use them in a similar manner scraping it across the carpet like the stick, roll it into a tight-ish ball and throw it, or tie it to a string/old shoelace. He's got all these fancy toys that people have gotten him over the years but it's always the pipe cleaner that ends up getting swatted and chased.

She's a very handsome cat and I hope you two have all the fun and joint poops.

    What a beautiful baby!

My babies also like stick. I have a really long plastic stick designed to hook toys on a string on the end, but a ribbon tied to the hook instead was a real game changer. They fucking love the ribbon stick, and it’s fun to wave it around like that ribbon dancing Olympic sport.

Also, I roll aluminum foil into balls and they can’t get enough, but now there’s probably a dozen under my stove.

yay! my cats love sticks too. may i suggest also gifting your cat a simple flat sheet? You can drape one across furniture so that it hangs down, with only an inch or two of open space on the bottom. in my experience cats love to play from underneath there, because they like being sneaky and ambushing. if you have sturdy furniture you can also tie the sheet between two of them, creating a low curtain wall, that they love to play in and jump over. just be careful about where you tie the curtain, make sure it wont tip the furniture over if they fall on it. you could just loosely drape stuff so it avoids that risk altogether

Highly recommend silvervine sticks. My cat goes nuts for drinking straws and little sticks, and silvervine has been allowing me to finish a drink without her scampering off with my straw lately.

I know what you mean. I bought my cat this really nice soft bed and she never sleeps in it. She prefers sleeping on a plastic bag kitty-cri

Also I got her this tunnel toy and she absolutely loves it:

    Maybe try that?
