I mean, that is actually the case for quite a few developers.

Like there's about two things that run electricity useage up, huge complicated bullshit (e.g. Arma's countrywiede AI and projectile physics or Dorf Fortress technomancy) and graphics.
I'd wager a good 95% of gam0rs have no interest in one or the other, they're super niche products. Things like battlefleid? Just like, stop at what 3 looked like and optimize. It's not like the newer ones look any better. Who the fuck needs visible pores in their MP shooter?
I am not in games but I do think that this sort of task is fun because I enjoy pain
