I get a downvote shower on Lemmy.ml when say things like “The European Union is an antidemocratic corporate cartel”. People really want to believe it’s a democracy despite only ever getting the join/leave/remain vote, and most of them will never even see that on their ballot.
Haha yeah, people get really upset when you point out that it's an unelected bureaucracy that people of individual countries have no real control over.
It’s funny that the SPD still tries to govern despite its imminent catastrophic collapse.

There’s an election planned for the second half of 2025, but people have been calling for a snap election. Government doesn’t want it because they’ve been cratering horribly.
It’ll be dead no matter what. Most likely reverting back to Merkelism with a healthy dose of right wing nationalism in the AfD
You're right, I don't really see any path to sanity there either.
Unless you define sanity as repeating the same policy failures that led to this current moment, I will concur.
