    Idk what his name was, I watched the doc like a decade ago. but if I remember correctly, I think it did work.

      the Mithridates name is a reference to a story about a Greek king who was afraid of being poisoned, so he always took small amounts of poison until he was immune. Eventually he was (defeated or captured, I don't recall) and wanted to commit suicide, but he was unable to poison himself.
