I'm from SC and am tempted to drive multiple hours to the town of Beaufort where this took place and spend like a week there trying to truly piece together this mystery, in hindsight, once and for all and write an article about it. Where was this location? Where are the other "real" shops they had actual proof for? Who are the two guys in this picture besides Fredrick Joseph? Was Joseph solely responsible for this, or did others help set up this train wreck?
There's so many unanswered questions. Even today, if you look up this incident online, all you get is shit like this explaining why everything was totally legit and nothing was faked or ridiculous. I want to know know what really happened! The truth is out there. If I were to set up like a online donation thing (kickstarter or like patreon or something) in hopes to get like <$500 just to fund travel expenses, do you think people would support it?
I can't remember the adress, but I did find the place on google street view. It was in a building with multiple small businesses next to eachother and seemingly did house at least one barbershop. Considering the ItWorks sign in the back of him (i doubt they would fake that), it might have legitmitately been some kind of existing business establishment.
