Canibus - Poet Laureate Infinity (1000 bars, All layers, original beat)
yewtu.bePoet Laureate Infinity: (PRESS READ MORE)
"A concept coined by Germaine Williams in 2007. The song contain 5 different layers of 200 bars, for a total of 1000 bars. It was originally displayed on a virtual mixing board online. Essentially, you would press play and all 5 sets of 200 bars would play at once, with 4 muted. Then you could at any time mute one, unmute a different one and do this every single bar. No matter what they would flow to make new rhymes with the layers and bars constantly changing upon user-interaction. As it was designed to make 'infinite' rhymes, there were countless different mixes or songs that could be interactively created by the listener.
In detail the concept of 'infinite rhyming' consists of layers that share the exact same rhyme scheme and flow (similar to how Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Bach layered their music). By putting each of the 5 vocals into a separate channel of a mixer, it gives a user the ability to switch between layers seamlessly. This while still maintaining a coherent rhyme structure, content, rhythm and flow. Thereby allowing users to create their own songs/mixes in an 'infinite' number of ways. This video displays how it was recorded, but as stated above, you as the listener can create totally new content each time you interact with it."
To give an example:

"Bis has taken emceeing, poetry, philosophy all to another level with this. He should have gotten recognition for this years ago.
If you don't know what this is read the description go to the live mixing board, and become entwined with this magic." - MakingLuv2DaUniverse
"I don't think it is an understatement to compare this to 'The Waste Land' by T.S.Eliot due to the sheer complexity and numerous literary, philosophical, mythological, historical and cultural references. Bis seems to delve into the scientific realm which Eliot doesn't seem to touch on. There is also (to some extent) layering in 'The Waste Land' with the different sections and fragmentation, it is pure genius and from my opinion Bis is almost recreating the master peace but approaching the topic from a completely different angle." - datrinidadboy
"Absolutely phenomenal. Aggressive pounding beat with world class lyricism. This would come off as pretentious from anybody else but Rip the Jacker keeps it within the realm of tasteful and innovative. This track and C of Tranquility plus many others set the bar to an unachievable level." - Dustin H

Imagine flowing this effortless for a solid hour. Couldn't be me. Bout to sound mad oldhead... But I miss battle rap like this, even for all the experimental avant-garde acts I listen to nowadays. (A lot of the reason I like Peggy so much, I think)
