Of course - we all know such a comment is a joke. But some very frequent lurkers at this site will consider it a literal threat on the life of a senator. That's a felony.
Digital is forever. I think it's a bad comment for the commenter and a bad comment for the site.
Yesterday somebody replied used the "let's burn" comment to me and I suggested they went too far. That was a mistake. I should have reported the comment and moved on.
I'll leave this here: threatening government officials of the United States.
