      have to be. although it's been a minute since i watched it, i thought i was remember a market area but it might have just been a large group of people.

      That and the fact that the whole thing honestly seemed like an allegory for leftist movements before the whole transgender thing. Man who served as nothing more than a power source for his overlords and was made complicit with the illusion of societal participation/consumption is suddenly woken up and released from his shackles and offered a choice to continue in the illusion to preserve his old way of life or engage in an armed resistance for the sake of the liberation of the entire human race. Then he gathers up his vanguard party, reenters the matrix and fights a bunch of feds for 2 1/2 movies (who are all really just multiple manifestations of the same fedboi looking entity which is operating entirely under the premise of preserving the power of the current ruling class, machines though they may be). Meanwhile the rest of the proletariat has organized underground, (literally) and engages in a defensive conflict for the ownership of whatever resources are left in an earth hollowed out by centuries of capitalist "growth". They're commies, though probably not tankies, cus they use mechs instead. Mechies.
