I'm not even asian but I am also more loyal to their countries of origin than the united states
I am Japanese-American who is more loyal to Chinese-Americans' country of origin than my own.
"I have completely single-handedly come to the regrettable conclusion that covid is a bioweapon developed by the CCP to destroy western culture. I don't trust anything the MSM says, I'm a free thinker who isn't swayed by elite narratives. I gathered all the underlying ""information"" on my own and didn't rely on State Department press releases."
Also:
I'm not racist, I'm just opposed to le ebil totalitarryan CCP -> I don't hate Asians, I just distrust the Chinese -> I can't tell the difference between any Asians so I suspect all of them
Who could have seen this coming? :liberty-weeping:
This is what is so baffling to me. Do they think Japanese-Americans are Chinese Nationalists? Do they just not understand the difference between China and Asia? Do they not know that Asian immigrants have been settling in the US for hundreds of years?
The only conclusion I can reach is that lead poisoning has destroyed any capacity for logic or rationality.
It's the same mentality that led to Sikhs and Indians getting attacked at the peak of the anti-muslim hysteria surrounding the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. They were brown therefore they were just lumped together by the racists.
I'm kind of taken aback by the number of people that I know that still refer to anyone Asian as Chinese :yikes-1: :yikes-2: :yikes-3:
also I agree with our media that COVID isn't a big deal, lockdowns are tyranny, and COVID is mild and has a low mortality rate.
Thinking about it, is it just me or is "Asian-American" such a broad category that you'd think it'd be useless? It encompasses such a wide range of countries, cultures and times in which people from said cultures emigrated to the US that it's weird that people just get lumped within that umbrella
Full disclosure: I am a pale dumbass from Europe
Asian usually means East Asian in the North American context, but even then it's still an extremely diverse area of people.
Just thinking locally, it'd be weird if the Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai communities here were thought of as a single bloc
Eurasia = Asia -> you are an Asian-American
American race categories are just the worst, followed closely by every other racist categorization.
I do get a bit of a kick out of seeing Irish people called Caucasian. Abolish words for white people, they use them wrong.
Abolish words for white people, they use them wrong.
Yeah anything that includes Pacific Islanders and Indians and Siberians in the same category is going to be so broad as to be useless.
Really hate "Asian American and Pacific Islander"
Literally just a lazy demographic category that was created when they realized Hawai‘ians exist but didn't want to make another checkbox.
I grew up with tons and tons of people who were mixed Asian AND Pacific Islander and never said weird shit like that.
I have to imagine that's mostly a UK thing. I don't think anyone would refer to eg a Bangladeshi person as "Asian"
That study is pretty wild. 58 % of Yanks, can't name a prominent Asian American, most commonly named one was Jackie Chan (7 %), and Kim Jong-Un is also on the list at 1 %.
Jesus nobody can name fucking George Takei or Keko O'Brien (I don't know the actresses actual name sorry)???
To be fair for the longest time (until I was like 16) I couldnt name any celebrity
:pit: "I hate Critical race theory because it blames me for the crimes someone else did!"
:pit: "COVID first got reported in China? ALL ASIANS ARE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE AND MUST BE PUNISHED!"
Holy shit. I'll never get over how gullible people are if they hear the right bullshit enough times.
All the older people I know who still watch cable news are almost bipolar. No object permanence for geopolitics or material reality

I think the most surprising thing is that this is from 2021 to 2022. Like, ~10% of Americans only started believing this shit within the last year
