Some kind of “protest” to call for things the government wants to do anyway.

    “Win this war!”

    “Fight the Russians!”

    “Less tactical defeats!”

Isn’t the point of protest to go against the government and get them to change their mind? What’s the point in protesting for the things they already were gonna try to do?

To maintain the international narrative and feed the spectacle. Protest as spectacle is nothing new.

Displays of being FOR something are a good sign of being organised. The Cuban people for example doing displays in support of the government. These are carried out by orgs and are demonstrations of being organised and having support at a local or mass level more so than they are protests.

Unions and communist orgs will do them when they start to realise their benefits and gain the resources for them.

It's not directed at the Ukrainian government, it's directed at the rest of the world.

They're protesting the lack of military intervention from other countries I guess, they're perfectly in agreement with their own government.

Any protest appealing to other nations to do something is sus. You protest your own government or not at all. You don’t go on cheerleading events for imperialists
