This undermines the foundation of their entire business model. What the fuck are they thinking?

in 2021, Glassdoor acquired Fishbowl, a professional networking app that integrated with Glassdoor last July. This acquisition meant that every Glassdoor user was automatically signed up for a Fishbowl account. And because Fishbowl requires users to verify their identities, Glassdoor's terms of service changed to require all users to be verified.

    Fuuuuuuck that.

Anyone could've guessed that if you put a glass door in a fishbowl there's bound to be leaks

Fucking Fishbowl. I signed up for it and immediately started receiving a ton of spam to that email. Shamelessly selling people’s verified emails.

totally unsubstantiated guess is one person got super pissed that their shitty company, or even just one terrible supervisor, was being humiliated on this website. They set out to demolish it in a Peter Teal type way... by any business means possible. Attaching real IDs destroys the collective nature of the place.

Or it is same old same old capitalism eating itself nothing especially nefarious.

Holy living fuck, there is literally nothing bad enough in the corporate world that could happen to the people behind this that I would say "too much".

(Obviously I don't mean like, violence. Firing, naming and shaming, whatever? Hell yes. )

I was already annoyed about their "login to see more" policy, never bothered making an account.
