are we really utopians tho
let people imagine a better world
By the :unlimited-power: power:unlimited-power: newly vested in me by CyberSyndicalist: I hereby allow everyone to imagine utopias, which they weren't able to do before, because I wouldn't let them.
I am. Sorel argued that mythologizing the future was essential to changing the present, pointing to myths like "heaven" and "the general strike."
I'm inclined to think he was right.
Perhaps utopian visions are the hypotheses of our social science experiments :thinking-about-it:
it helps me to continue functioning when i'm depressed
also, not actually american
I'm sorry. By virtue of being american, you are now excommunicated from Chapo.Chat. you have 24 hours to collect your posts and belongings
Well thank goodness i only post on hexbear.net and not chapo.chat:sicko-biker:
:yea:
What especially sucks is when you try to train yourself to do shit in small chunks via the pomodoro technique, but then you never remember to actually set the timer and, like, do shit.
In other news, my Stardew Valley farm is off the freakin' chain...
Edit: For what it's worth, if you at least spray/rinse things out as you dump them in there, it's less of a wall-of-awful to deal with later on. All bets are off if something needs to soak, though. For the record, my sink looks like this about once or twice a week, and my dishwasher barely works because of our water quality out here in Liberal Mountain.
The secret is to have a second person who tells you to do things. A real person who is in the same room as you and could touch you, and can't be silenced by pressing a button.
the OP literally included executive function in the post why are you telling them to do their dishes like it's some sort of easy feat, read up on executive dysfunction you libs
I had this problem for a while, got over it by always doing my dishes asap. Found if I left them around for a little bit, I'd just like, ignore them, and it'd be a huge thing mentally to get started on all the dishes. But now, done cooking? Do the dishes. Done eating? Do the dishes. Now that I'm in the habit of doing it, its automatic, though having my 'routine' be interrupted by something does knock me off track.
Emptying dish drainer still gives me issues, since that's a task that is difficult to put a label of 'immediacy' on, but luckily it is easier to do than a big ol pile of dishes.
(I dunno if any of that will help you, since I can really only speak for my own bad brain, but little things like that helped turn me from a 'slob' to a always clean apartment haver.)
I've heard good things on this book about house keeping while having mental problems. Haven't read it myself yet, but might be worth checking out.
