Terrible creator, terrible fans.
Veeery questionable material (but it doesnt really glorify the worst parts of it, it just does it for shock value).
Some super funny and very clever episodes though. Earlier seasons are better (watch out for that content warning though).
For me it was the dragon orgy that made me feel like the show took a weird turn.
The show had its highlights with some very fun gags and bits, which can probably be attributed to Dan Harmon, who is an incredible writer.
Beyond that, the creator is a disgusting creep, the quality has dropped off significantly, and any love and care the show was initially made with has long since disappeared.
I disagree with the quality dropping off significantly, the most important people are still working on the show, unfortunately Roiland isn't prison.
Eh, past the season finale where they revealed Evil Morty, it feels like we’ve gotten more misses then hits.
Dare I mention, “Giant Space Incest Baby”?
I like it overall but the quality has fallen off and the creator is a creep. Everybody talks about the fan base and that's not entirely unwarranted but I've liked a lot of things with annoying fans so I don't hold that against the show. I think it's still good some gas in the tank for good episodes but in the last season I'd say about half of the episodes were bad and I don't expect that ratio to improve much.
It started out interesting, until the fan base and creator made it unbearable
It's been a while now since I watched it, before I started my leftward education of reality, so I would probably have more subtle reactions now but
I remember being very satisfied by a story which mocks the contradictions of modern, comfortable America.
But yeah, it's been a while since I've watched it
What a terrible show. I managed through the first few episodes until
content warning
the child rape scene happened.
This show is disgusting.
Don't look up the pilot episode
Edit: doc and mharti pilot I think
I’ll admit that I have never really watched it, but after watching a brief compilation that repeatedly featured bowel humour, I became certain about my disinterest.
I don’t know much else about the show. It started out as something loosely inspired by Back to the Future, and it’s filled with typical ‘adult’ cartoon humour.
I would advise you to not write the show off, compilations like that can be extremely misleading, the show is surprisingly deep and mature.
I know exactly what you're referring to, and I think it's sad that it seems all Rick and Morty fans have to distance ourselves from that copypasta or risk as being associated as "those type" of fans.
