      i joined team gargamel when i heard smurf remixes of hit songs in the mid 2000s, which were just the same songs but with words replaced with the word smurf

      Clearly he didn't accompany it with the proper chemical markers to distinguish the words correctly. It's like the lion poem but instead of tonal markers it's smurf stink.
