One of the few genuinely good sites and the only place I've made money from my music (partially thanks to some generous Hexbears). I'm tearing up seeing this place unionize.
Edit: Also it looks like Tim Pool got banned from Bandcamp lmao
Edit 2: Here is their website https://www.bandcampunited.org/
This is definitely after the Pim Tool banning shit, and it is mega based.
I didn't even know that happened until I saw chuds screaming under their social media posts
Will the union bring back RSS?
I like Bandcamp for bring DRM-free, but getting rid of RSS was dumb
I admit, I was so worried when the Epic Games thing happened, but I am not surprised their workers are fighting back.
He wants to do shitty 2000s-style post-grunge hard rock stuff about how bad SJWs are.
Fuck yeah. I decided to stop using streaming services and switched mostly to purchasing from Bandcamp a little bit before they started Bandcamp fridays. I've got a collection of > 2000 albums on there now. Support the artists as directly as you can.
Edit: did you know you can purchase the discography of Kino on bandcamp? The biggest soviet rock band? https://kinogroup.bandcamp.com/
My music purchases are vinyl or Bandcamp. I do admittedly use Apple Music still because of the convenience.
It is by no means a living, but I have actually made money off of Bandcamp purchases (about $107 before fees) while I haven't made a dollar yet off of streaming. I very much appreciate you buying stuff off of Bandcamp as it is the best online music store.
