I'm going down a rabbit hole lately. I started off asking about Trotsky, and then I moved on to LaRouche (who started as a Trot), and now I'm on Fabian Socialism.

I thought about it because I used to work with a guy who, I can see now in retrospect, was totally into the paranoia influenced politics of LaRouche. I have no doubt that if I asked him, he'd definitely know of LaRouche. Even though my coworker was a big libertarian guy.

Anyway, one time my coworker was telling me about Fabian Socialism, and he sent me a video on it. He said the Fabian society was, like, molding the world or whatever (even at the time, the antisemitism alarms were ringing). I told him that I had extensively studied communism and different kinds of tendencies and spoken with many communists, but I had never once heard of Fabian Socialism. He said, of course, that's how they want it.

Looking on Wikipedia, it says they are a think tank, which is already a red flag. They also founded the London school of economics, which I know damn well doesn't teach Marxist economics. They're also associated with the Blaire government somehow.

Lenin and Trotsky (it all goes back to Trotsky) have some choice words dunking on them:

During the First World War, Vladimir Lenin wrote that the Fabians were "social-chauvinists", "undoubtedly the most consummate expression of opportunism and of Liberal-Labour policy". Drawing from Friedrich Engels, Lenin declared the Fabians were "a gang of bourgeois rogues who would demoralise the workers, influence them in a counter-revolutionary spirit".

In the 1920s, Leon Trotsky critiqued the Fabian Society as provincial, boring and unnecessary, particularly to the working class. He wrote that their published works "serve merely to explain to the Fabians themselves why Fabianism exists in the world"

Honestly, it just seems like weird trust fund baby shit. Like bourgeois sex ritual stuff. I mean, who makes the symbol of their ideology a wolf in sheep's clothing lmao.

Anybody know what's going on with these people? It seems like allegations against them are what reactionaries accuse Soros of, but they're pretty open about "Hey, we just wanna do a bit of clandestine social engineering, as a treat"
