ISIS-K Is Waging a New War in Afghanistan—This Time Against China
Whereas previously the group’s animosity was focused almost exclusively on the Taliban, the United States, and the governments of both Afghanistan and Pakistan, the ISIS-K media machine is now turning its crosshairs toward Beijing, highlighting allegations of genocide against Uyghurs and encouraging supporters to retaliate by committing violence against Chinese interests.
Isn't it funny how ISIS lost all of its territory, and then lost to the Taliban, and now Afghanistan is in economic turmoil due to sanctions and people are dying and getting sick - in other words, the perfect conditions to propagate your movement that targets desperate people. Yet, they decided to completely forgo that and focus on a completely different country.
Webber wagered “very good odds” that ISIS-K violence against Chinese people will continue.
Yeah, me too. :brace-watching:
Why did Isis-K say its suicide bomber was Uygur?
In a rare move, Isis-K said the attacker was an ethnic Uygur, a member of the Muslim minority that has allegedly been subjected to indoctrination, torture and forced labour in China’s far western region of Xinjiang
Although the Isis-K claim has not been verified, it is the first time the group has linked a bomber to an ethnic group in China.
Strange that the US gets humiliated in Afghanistan and execute a disastrous evacuation. And then ISIS was just nice enough to announce the ethnicity of their attackers even though they rarely do.
they're not. this group is still in afghanistan, doing terrorism there. even if the US pivoted to backing these guys already its nothing compared to what they were able to do when afghanistan was occupied.
just as explicable they're leaning on this because of their domestic rivalry with the Taliban, China's more friendly with the Taliban & has the capacity to alleviate those conditions that make afghanistan unstable/taliban illegitimate
