So fitting with all these stories of people shooting each other’s families over road rage or paranoid boomers killing people who cough on their lawn. The show is literally about two complete strangers who had no purpose in life until they met each other and now they can only think about spreading misery. On the last episode and I've only been watching it for like 2 days

If I had to choose 3 pieces of media to show a foreigner what American culture truly is, I would show him Falling Down, Borat 1, and Beef.

    Hatred of neighbors and randos used to be more common when we interacted more.

    Now everyone siloes off after work or works from home, but back in the day folks hung around each other all the time whether they wanted to or not.

    Interpersonal violence was much higher before the advent of stuff like radio, tv, etc. Cheap entertainment is a good thing.

        back in my day my entire family would go to war with another family for 4 generations. ain't like today with the kids postin "soyjaks" on the tweety

        I think it was probably the poverty in the 19th century causing the stress and violence not too much socialising
