Her family has a history of being communist/socialist, she has expressed pro-Palestinian sentiment, she's a climate scientist, and her being elected has caused western media to collectively shit its pants (like this article). So all in all, I'm really hopeful at first glance. We'll obviously have to wait and see.

Badly. He began massive remilitarization campaigns because he essentially gave up on the local police; declaring them a lost cause, and the that the military would be substantially harder to corrupt.
