maybe i'm being too much of a doomer but my first thought is please don't fall for pop science slop that oversells findings from a single animal study because it's from a chinese lab...
when they say "gene therapy which could delay ageing" they mean "scientists fiddled with genetically modified clones of mice until they found changes in a handful of outcome variables they handpicked, might be useful in 25 years".

Very poetic that the communist Chinese are researching ways to individually delay ageing, while the capitalist Americans are doing literal vampirism for the same goal.
Plot idea: China keeps their gene therapy science a state secret then sells it to the bougies around the world. Their long lives now rely on Chinese science.
They must periodically travel to china to recieve treatments as without them they will crumble to dust, this is used to dismantle western imperialism and establish global communism while the bourgeoisie are kept leashed to their immortal lives of obedience
It's a good plot eh? You can do it serious or you can do it totally non-serious where when the bougies come to China they get treated by Chinese women in dominatrix outfits with whips too. Flanked by tigers.
