Is it weird that as soon as I saw the name of the sub I knew it was his sub? I saw a short documentary about its construction roughly a week before the titan thing. It was a very funny contrast between oceangate's "testing? what the fuck is a test? we're just winging it lmao" approach and how the construction of the limiting factor involved shit like "and it took a long time to arrange, but we managed to get it tested in the only facility big enough to pressure test the sub which was this old Soviet facility in St. Petersburg..."

Aight, Imma read it. But be warned, I started Asimov's Foundation novels, I'm at "the Prince Traders", and I find it extremely dissapointing. It's not just another case of "sci-fi books that should be set in medieval times instead of space", the "political intrigue" (which is the only thing the books have, cuz worldbuiling is nonexistent) is just bland.

I just watched the Foundation show instead - I thought it was good; the first episode is some of the most powerful tv I've ever seen. The downside was the awkwardly inserted romance bits but that might just be because I'm autistic and I just want tech, planets, spaceships, politics and schemes

Maybe it's because the first three novels are too short, I now started Foundation and Empire which looks longer.

But anyways, he doesn't worldbuild at all.
