Marxists during the first cold war: "'Neither Washington nor Moscow' hurts leftist movements in the west, because it just directs support away from leftist movements and towards imperialist ones."
Result: Anarchists doubled down on being anti-communist, and western leftism became even more anti-left
Marxists during the second cold war: "'Neither Washington nor Beijing' only hurts leftist movements in the west, because it reaffirms imperialist biases while reducing the importance of internationalist movements within the global left, we've been over this"
result: Anarchists double down on sinophobia and anti-communism, and western leftism just becomes more social-imperialist.
