Malaysia has become the first country to issue a safety warning to its citizens about travel to the UK due to anti-immigration protests and riots.

The south-east Asian country's ministry of foreign affairs published an alert on Sunday advising Malaysians living in or visiting the UK to "stay away" from protest areas and "remain vigilant".

Why do they have to spin the story?

    Newspaper Title:

    Do not travel to UK

    The Exact Malaysia Travel advice:

Malaysians residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom are urged to stay away from protest areas, remain vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by local authorities.”

Coincidentally, a friend of mind's grandfather was Malaysian and she was already scared to go out. I'm definitely not sending this to her.

It's all understandable - although the violence is relatively isolated, I imagine it can be tense on the streets at the moment. So I can see why anyone would be worried, especially if you are a woman of colour. I'm not sending her that report because I don't want to add to her anxiety at this time.
