Supposedly Voice of America now claims it could be friendly AD fire. Which is even more hilarious. It's like Crash Bandicoot but "Crash Banderite", but instead of a fox-looking thing there's a Ukrainian guerrilla-like figure running away from press gangs and sabotaging Zelensky's war efforts.
F16 experienced rapid unplanned lithobraking after a high altitude exothermic situation related to a kinetic object propelled by rapid oxidation reaction.
Some Russian media sources are claiming that it was destroyed by an Iskander strike and the pilot killed in the same or a similar hit. May or may not have been on the ground at a targeted airfield and Ukraine didn't want their first loss to be some guy dying on the ground and his plane getting knocked out without even getting in the air.
That said at this point it's just rumors.

Took it long enough? Fucking piece of junk.
it looks like the US is ignoring Russia saying they consider any F16 to be nuclear armed?
did they train the pilots on 10 hours of arma 2 at 20 fps with a nintendo controller or something
one of the funnier speculations going around is that it got shot down by a patriot due to lack of coordination between units
This actually might be legit. You have to remember the west is good at killing, not war. There is a big difference.
They train in Warthunder now, and even get theory from the forum.
