We're doing this for the indies, says multi million dollar corporation who ripped off an indie dev and has a generative AI game
ShowShowRly? They couldn't make less obvious with that hollow knight bootleg copy
Edit: Looking at the trailer for this shit they also got "inspired" by Momodora
says multi million dollar corporation who ripped off an indie dev
?

Lol at the corporation that started developing Palworld with 10 people. And
- Had to hire a 20 years old middle school graduate part time convenience store worker as the guy responsible for everything gun related.
- Migrated from C# Unity to C++ Unreal when no one on the team except the newly hired lead know about C++ and Unreal.
- ect
You can read the interview and see if it's a corporation. https://note.com/pocketpair/n/n54f674cccc40
ripped off an indie dev
This is inspired. If it is considerd ripped off, we wouldn't even have Path of Exiles,Soul-like games,WOW-clones, ect. And checking the screenshots, the art direction looks different enough.
ShowShowShowShowYeah it's so weird how they're trying so hard to put themselves in the position of the "good guys"
Pocketpair said it would battle the lawsuit on behalf of Palworld's fans, but also framed the fight as a matchup between "a small indie game company" that wanted "to ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursusing their creative ideas".
Defending indie games creativity while all of their games are creatively bankrupt is quite ironic. That being said Nintendo is still a bully and really should stop these scare tactics, but I'm not comfortable with how people are defending Pocketpair in spite of Nintendo. I'm all for artistic and creative innovation in video games, but Pocketpair is certainly not where this innovation will come from.
Nintendo sucks and copyright sucks, but wtf were they expecting? Some of their designs are just blatant rip offs of Pokémon. Why waste money fighting this?
At least it will maybe distract Nintendo's lawyers from non-commercial fan projects.
It's a self aggrandizing way of presenting it, but depending on what patent nintendo is attacking them over, they're 100% correct. Patenting game mechanics is always a bad thinh for gaming as a whole, and the less courts allow this shit to fly the better
